What's Coming Next?

I think everyone knows that my next release is The Sundering. It's not the only new ebook, though.

For people new to Sleepers, Afterlife, and The Sundering (The Swarm Trilogy), I'll have an ebook combo edition. Check out the cover (and send some love to my amazing cover artist Steven Novak).

For readers who've come to my books recently, there will be one ebook to rule them all. I mean, haha, one epic ebook that contains all seven of my ebooks: The Initiate, Anathema, Oubliette, Severed, Sleepers, Afterlife, The Sundering. As those of you who've read carefully know, all the books are connected! I've  named the entire set The Song of Eloh Saga. The trilogies still remain as they are. They can still be read independently, but I've said many times that reading all seven in order makes for a more satisfying experience. Once again, a new cover by my new best friend Steven Novak.

....and after these three hits the e-stores? Well, I have something really interesting on my mind. I'm not sure when it will be out, but I do have a cover made up already. I'll release it ... not sure when ... but it will be sooner, rather than later. ;)

My kids are going back to school in just a few weeks, which means my productivity will increase exponentially. It will be the first year both of them are in school all day, every day. I have big expectations for my writing output and I can't wait to share more of my stories with you!!!! :D

Afterlife - SPOILER!!!!!!

I'm writing Afterlife and nearing completion of my first ugly draft and I wanted to give you something whet your appetite.

If you've been reading my blog, you know that all of my books are related. There are strings that travel through them all.

In Sleepers, the reader didn't get any direct connections to Cloud Prophet Trilogy. I wanted my readers to fall for Lianne since she's so different from Reychel. But in Afterlife, the stories start coming back together. Lianne meets a really hot guy (yes, she's still with Bryden at the beginning of Afterlife). Who is he? How is he related to the two trilogies? How does he bring them together?

I'll give you a hint - He was a key player in the plot of Severed, but the reader never actually met him. He was only named in the last chapter....lol....got it yet? (Sleepers & Afterlife take place about twenty years after the end of Severed.)

So if you've read Anathema, Oubliette & Severed - you'll definitely want to pick up The Swarm trilogy, starting with Sleepers. There's time. Afterlife won't be out until summer.

Happy reading!!!!!!!

Here's a discount coupon code for Sleepers, regularly $2.99 on Smashwords, but you can download it for $2.00 with the code good through March 5th - DG27W

Contest Winners & Future Plans

My three winners for ecopies of Sleepers have been contacted. If you haven't heard from me, then you didn't win ... this time. As anyone who follows me through Facebook or my newsletter knows, I like to give things away a lot, so if you like free things, then follow me. ;)

It's the beginning of the year (well, kind of, since we're nearly a couple weeks in) and I feel like I should let you know what will be happening on my blog.

First, I'll probably be blogging less this year than I did last year. At least here. I've joined three other blogs, Indelibles, Author 2 Author, and The Writer's Voice. Since I'll be blogging in those places, I'll have less to say here. However, that will make what I do say here more important. There'll be less random posts to wade through when what you really want is to know the details about releases, etc. If you want to keep up on my other posts, please follow me on Facebook, which is where I notify my peeps when I have a new post up.

As for writing, I'm working hard on Afterlife and will have it out by summer unless something drastic happens, like I fall off a boat and a shark eats both of my arms. I doubt this will happen since I live in Illinois. You can all relax now.

I plan to release the sequel to Afterlife later in the year. In addition to those, I hope to get at least one more book out, but until I know for sure, I don't want to jinx anything.

I have loved every moment of the past year. I chose to epublish in December of 2010 and Anathema came out in February of 2011. It's been the most fascinating time in my life. Who knew I could make a career out of the one thing I love most in life - creating new worlds. Thank you to each of you who've been on this journey with me (OMG, I sound like a chick from The Bachelor, don't I?).

Love you all!!!!!

Cover Reveal: Sleepers Rebooted

When I originally commissioned the artwork for Sleepers from Robin Ludwig Design, I was absolutely in love with it. I still am.

But as I prepared to continue with the trilogy, I had a really hard time coming up with concepts for what I wanted the other two covers to be. I had heard about artist PhatPuppy months ago and knew she designed some cover art for Amanda Hocking. I spent hours going through her website, falling in love with multiple pieces of artwork.

The more I combed through her art, the more I realized that there were pieces that embodied exactly what I was looking for. A couple were perfect, in fact. I decided to take the plunge and use her artwork for my next two books. Yet...it wouldn't match Sleepers original cover and I needed this trilogy to make sense visually. It was agonizing for me, but I decided to recover Sleepers.

Here it is and I hope you love it as much as I do!!!!!!!

Thank you so much to the 83 bloggers who are revealing Sleepers' new cover on their blogs today. I am eternally grateful to each and every one of you!!!!!! :D

If you haven't read Sleepers yet, I have it priced at only 99 cents!!!! Check it out now! :D

An Interview, An Author, and a Magic 8 Ball: Michelle Muto

Yay, it's time to bring back my interview series!!!!! Sorry, I've been absorbed in Severed and haven't had much blog time. I'm snagging a few minutes to get this gem out there.

Michelle Muto and I are kind of like long-lost twins because we have so many things in common - one of which is that we are both natural redheads. I won't bore you with the others. She's also one of my favorite writers and I know you'll love her books too!!!!

MJ: Tell me a bit about your novel, The Book of Lost Souls, in your own words - not the official synopsis.

MM: The Book of Lost Souls is the story of a teen witch who must dispel the rumor she's like her father, a black magic practitioner who left her and her mother when she was young. It's a paranormal coming-of-age story filled with humor, romance, and devout friendship. It's sort of like Harry Potter meets Buffy in some ways.

MJ: Did you pants or plot while writing your first draft?

MM: A little of both. I've learned a lot since then - plotting is my least favorite part of the writing process, but I do much better with a solid outline. It saves me considerable time and grief later on.

MJ: What’s your next release going to be?

MM: It's a 360 from The Book of Lost Souls. The new book is another young adult novel, and a planned series, but that's where the comparison ends. The new book is a dark, mostly dystopian novel set in the afterlife. It's also written in first person, while The Book of Lost Souls is in third person. I hope to release the new book by the end of September.

{edited by MJ to add: Michelle just revealed the cover for her next novel, Don't Fear the Reaper yesterday! It's totally gorgeous!!!!}

MJ: Now for the fun stuff!!!

What is your favorite color?

MM: Black

MJ: Wolves or vampires or zombies?

MM: Werewolves or vampires. As much as I like all things supernatural, zombies just don't do it for me.

MJ: What do you wear when you write?

MM: Mostly t-shirts/sweatshirts and jeans.

MJ: When you were a teen were you a cheerleader, a sporty girl, the smart one, the band geek, or something else?

MM: I was just the kid trying to get by.

MJ: Do you have any pets?

MM: I have two dogs: Tasha, a 12-yr-old Akita and Ronan, a 5-yr-old Shikoku (my inspiration for Devlin in The Book of Lost Souls).

MJ: Now, I need YOU to ask ME a question about absolutely anything under the sun. It has to be a yes or no question and will be answered by my 9-year-old’s all-knowing Magic 8 Ball! The question can be serious or silly - it’s up to you.

MM: Will my books be on wish lists for Christmas?

M8B: As I See It Yes. Now, I don't know why my 8 Ball pics are always sideways. Argh! Anyway, is it really a big surprise Michelle wants books for Christmas? Just more proof my 8 Ball always knows!!!!

Thank you SO MUCH to Michelle for participating in my interview series!!!! If you haven't read The Book of Lost Souls, you should go read it, NOW!
